Aloe Vera Mask for healing Sun Kissed Skin

Aloe Vera gel contains glycoproteins that can relieve pain and inflammation while reducing swelling, as well as polysaccharides that help repair damaged skin cells and trigger new ones to form. Aloe vera gel even contains lidocaine, a well-known ingredient for relieving pain. It also helps to form a protective layer over burned, peeling skin, while hydrating it and holding that moisture in.  Aloe vera gel also contains two hormones: Auxin and Gibberellins. These two hormones provide wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties that reduce skin inflammation. It is effective in soothing the skin.  in Ayurvedic medicine, Aloe is used to effectively heal chronic skin problems, such as psoriasis, acne and eczema.

This amazing recipe uses the healing, soothing properties of aloe vera with coconut oil’s super moisturizing abilities, as well as lavender essential oil, which is known to reduce redness and the sting of a sunburn.

The Lavender Essential oil will add a pleasant fragrance to the moisturizer and help in soothing and cooling the skin.

Aloe Vera Mask for healing Sun Kissed Skin Recipe:

  • Cup of unrefined coconut oil
  • 3 tablespoons of Organic Aloe Vera Gel
  • 5 drops of Lavender Oil
  • 1 TSP of Vitamin E Oil

Aloe Vera Mask for healing Sun Kissed Skin Directions:

  • Mix together the coconut oil and aloe vera gel gently with a  whisk until the mixture is warmed through the mixing process and begins to soften.
  • Add in Lavender Oil and Vitamin E Oil
  • Mix until the ingredients are intermixed and the texture becomes more like a lotion.

Aloe Vera Mask for healing Sun Kissed Skin Application:

Apply the mixture to your skin for at least two to three times a day for three days.  Store the mixture in a lidded container in the refrigerator as coconut oil will harden when it cools.  You will need to mix the ingredient up again before re-applying.
